Sen-Know |
|

1999 Kaneko / Kouyousha
An acceptable, alebeit completely unoriginal spin on a well-established idea is made utterly redundant by irritating and charmless presentation.
Sen-Know is another pipe-type puzzler. Drop tiles to create circuits, yadda yadda yadda. It's been done a million times before, but so has every other type of puzzle game known to man. The only thing that makes one version worth playing over another one is the presentation, which in this case is overdone to the point of obnoxiousness. Three-second dance loops pass for a soundtrack, while graphics are overbearing and distracting.
It's a silly thing to have to do, to judge a game based solely on its presentation, but plagiarism is so rife within the puzzle games market that it's the only thing left to judge a game on. And according to those criteria, this game stinks.
A dozen other manufacturers had already used this idea before this game's release in 1999, and pretty well all of them managed to add some charm to the game. This version simply shouldn't have been made.
