Lup Lup Puzzle
Lup Lup Puzzle

1999 Omega System

This is a nice rip off of Puzz Loop that has found its way onto my Favourites list largely because of its co-operative two-player mode, originality be damned.

A train of coloured balls moves along a track.  Your launcher sits usually in the middle of this track, and spits balls outwards.  Connect three or more balls of the same colour together - or, more commonly, launch a like-coloured ball at a cluster of the same colour - and they explode.  If the balls on either side of the exploded section are like colours, the head of the train will rush backwards to connect the like colours and burst them, causing some cool chain reactions.  If the head of the train reaches the end of the track, it's game over regardless of how many balls are in play.  If you have a ball in your launcher that isn't useful, and the train hasn't gotten too long, you can simply throw it away by launching it somewhere where it won't connect with the train.

It's a fun idea, and there are a wide range of game modes including a very nifty two-player co-op mode.  Again, it's a rip-off of Puzz Loop, but it's a nicely-done one.

There's also a switch in the service menu to change the background between "Normal" and "Nude Girls."  Bonus.

It's worth mentioning that there's also a "Super" version of Lup Lup Puzzle.  The only difference, as far as I can tell, is that the option to include nude girls also extends to nude guys too.  So in Japan, "Super" == "Bisexual."  Whatever turns you on, man.
There are porn versions of everything in MAME.
